The AFL Draft Prospect Drawing Comparisons to a Young Petracca

AFL draft prospect Brayden George is a name to keep an eye on as the year unfolds.

George is a talented forward out of the Murray Bushrangers where he played alongside Adelaide young gun Josh Rachele last year.

AFL Media draft expert Cal Twomey says George has “genuine power” and likened the Bushrangers product to a bottom-age Christian Petracca.

“His name is Brayden George – he’s reminding me of Christian Petracca when I saw Christian back in 2013 as a bottom-age player,” Twomey told SEN Breakfast.

“Christian spent most of his bottom-age year inside the forward 50 and he was just a bull down there, he tore Darcy Gardiner to shreds in a final at TAC Cup level.

“George plays for the Murray Bushrangers – he kicked five goals in Round 1, he kicked a goal in Round 2, he kicked three last weekend in the NAB League – a very exciting talent who is in the mix as a top 10 player at this point.

“He just reminds me so much of Christian as a bottom-age player before Christian moved into the midfield in his draft year.

“Brayden George – really powerful, great kick. He comes from the Murray Bushrangers, he played alongside Josh Rachele last year.

“He’s as good – if not a better – kick than Josh Rachele for goal. Genuine power.”

George booted 10 goals in five NAB League games in 2021 and also represented Vic Country at the Under 17 National Championships.
