Passionately engage in your education

THE Academy Wangaratta is leading the way in empowering students to learn in a way that helps them achieve their best.

The full-time Year 11 and 12 program includes a tailored Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning alongside an AFL simulated environment of high performance and

personal growth led by industry professionals including founder and former AFL player Alex Rance.

The Academy looks to passionately engage students in their education and aims to help them live a happy, fulfilling life.

“We have seen enormous growth in our students, socially, emotionally and academically,” lead teacher Justin McMahon said of the program.

“Everything we do at The Academy has a purpose and our holistic approach engages students through our Personal Development Program, High Performance Program and passion based curriculum.”

Alongside their education, The Academy High Performance Program sees students placed in an AFL-simulated environment that focuses on preparing them for the next step of their football journey.

Adam White, head of student experience and pathways, works with the students from the point of accepting their offer to join The Academy, through until their graduation and beyond.

Adam said The Academy is unique because they still like to keep in touch with their graduates to offer support if ever they need it.

“During this journey I deliver the students’ Pathway Development Program,” he said. Students will graduate from The Academy with a robust pathway plan whether that be a university degree, apprenticeship, or full- time work.

For any student in their education journey that is passionate about football, or is feeling like they might not be fitting in with their current school’s learning style, The Academy is the place to re-engage with education and discover a pathway after school you will enjoy.
