Athletic Profiling Database​

An Athletic Profiling Database is maintained to monitor individual development, with data collected during 2 Academy Athlete Profiling Sessions.

This information is then used to identify strengths and weaknesses for a tailored programme.

High Performance Components ​

Skills
AFL standard drills to improve structural and system awareness, as well as decision-making and execution.
Strength
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Strength programs are created for each student based on their Academy Athlete profiling sessions. Making them fitter, faster, more powerful & agile, to better adapt to the physical demands of football.
Running Tech

Improve movement efficiency to enhance football capacity.

Recovery

To assist with fatigue management and regenerate & adapt from training and game stress. Recovery sessions include, cross fit training, pilates, swimming, biking, yoga, etc.

Injury Rehab
Enhance regeneration capacity & return the student to full performance as soon as possible.

Jake Giannakis

Head of High Performance - All Campuses

Jake has over 8 years of Industry Experience in the High Performance area and has worked with an array of sporting teams and organisations including; Essendon Football Club, North Melbourne Football Club and Collingwood Football Club.

Jake has a wealth of knowledge and completed a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, Strength & Conditioning as well as a ASCA Level 2 Professional Coach.

Cam Bishop

Head of Strength & Conditioning - Wangaratta Campus

Cam has over 8 years’ experience working across the Strength & Conditioning and Physiotherapy industries. Cam is also the High Performance Manager at the Murray Bushrangers.

Cam has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy and Exercise & Sport Science as well as a Level 2 ASCA Coach.

Tom Hornsey

Head of Strength & Conditioning - Geelong Campus

Tom was a professional American Football Player (NFL) with the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to the NFL he spent 4 years with the University of Memphis on a Football scholarship, an All American, Ray Guy Award Winner and an Academic Honours Student he studied Exercise and Sport Science. 

Upon returning to Australia he completed his Masters in Applied Learning and Teaching as well as starting his own business Prokick Geelong where he coaches kicking for American and Australian football.
