At THE ACADEMY, the right to privacy of all our students and their families is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our commitment to our student population is to handle their personal information with complete care.Our Privacy Policy goes into detail about how we collect and handle all students’ personal information, as well as who we exchange that information with, how we store that information and how students can access and correct that information – plus how you can make a complaint about any perceived breach.

THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP is committed to protecting your privacy and that includes any personal information about you that we collect. THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains how we may collect, use, disclose and otherwise handle personal and sensitive information.

THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP will not collect or monitor any personal information about an individual without their personal consent. The only personal information that we collect when you sign on with THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP is what is provided voluntarily – when you join as a student or enquire as a prospective student.
The reason we collect your personal information, primarily, is to enable us to provide students with our services. THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP may also use the information for marketing to you, or for any other purpose permitted under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
You don’t need to identify yourself when you deal with us (e.g. to find out more about enrolment), however, in some situations, our THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP team will only deal with individuals who have identified themselves to us.
When you enroll at THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP, personal information will be requested in order to provide your education, provide updated information, and advise of other THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP services, which may be of interest to your educational journey. Sensitive information will only ever be used for providing services to students. Your personal information will not be used or disclosed for any other purposes without your consent, except in exceptional cases when disclosure may be required by law or is necessary to protect the rights or property of THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP, any THE EDUCATION ACADEMY GROUP company, or any member of the public, or to lessen a serious threat to a person’s health or safety. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, sensitive information is a subset of personal information.

These third parties may have access to personal information that is needed to perform their specific function. They cannot use that information for other purposes.

Child Safety Statement
The Education Academy Group (‘The Academy’) is a child safe organisation which welcomes all children, young people, and their families.
We are committed to providing environments where our students are safe and feel safe, where their participation is valued, their views respected, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Our child safe policies, procedures and practices are inclusive of the needs of all children and students.
We have no tolerance for child abuse and take proactive steps to identify and manage any risks of harm to students in our school environments.
We promote positive relationships between students and adults and between students and their peers. These relationships are based on trust and respect.
We take proactive steps to identify and manage any risk of harm to students in our school environments. When child safety concerns are raised or identified, we treat these seriously and respond promptly and thoroughly.
Attention is given to the child safe needs of Aboriginal students, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, international students, students with disabilities, those unable to live at home, children and young people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ+) and other students experiencing risk or vulnerability. Inappropriate or harmful behaviour targeting students based on these or other characteristics, such as racism or homophobia, are not tolerated and any instances identified will be addressed with appropriate consequences.
Child safety is a shared responsibility.
Every person at The Academy has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising any issues or concerns about a child’s safety.
We are committed to regularly reviewing our child safe practices and seeking input from our students, families, staff and volunteers to inform our ongoing strategies.
